The Las Vegas Raiders have a young secondary going into the 2022 season. Does the cornerback room need help? The answer is yes. AFC West quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Russell Wilson will be licking their chops, waiting to attack the cornerbacks. The team was in on Stephon Gilmore and Tyrann Mathieu, but they signed elsewhere.
Should the team pursue James Bradberry?
The best option for them is to go for cornerback James Bradberry. He is currently under contract with the New York Giants and is expected to make $13.4 million in 2022.
According to Jordan Raanan, league sources say the Giants are “desperately” looking to part ways with the player due to cap space. Signs point to the New York franchise not wanting to release the player but trading him. If no trade blossoms, they will most likely cut him.

The pros of bringing a Pro Bowl cornerback into a scheme he’s familiar makes sense. Having a player who can help others get the defense down can be huge for the team. Also, a player with four interceptions and 17 deflected passes wouldn’t be too shabby.

Suppose you’re thinking about the cons of bringing Bradberry to the Raiders. One factor on that list should be money, or should it? Rumors are brewing that the Giants will swallow some of the $13.4 million that Bradberry is due. If they decide to trade or sign, it will have to be post-June 1st, when the team gets cap space. If the reports are accurate, Dave Ziegler and the Raiders’ front office should jump at the opportunity.
