AFC West: Will the Las Vegas Raiders end the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominance?

In the offseason, where predictions are being made every other day, both fans and analysts can jump the gun on specific teams. Recently, one of the most controversial sports “analysts” on television, Nick Wright, claimed the Las Vegas Raiders would finish last in the AFC West. At the same time, K.J. Wright, who played with the Silver and Black last season, believes the team will be the one to beat in 2022.

What did the Raiders’ linebacker from 2021 have to say about the West?

Wright spoke on NFL Total Access and gave his thoughts on who is the team to beat in the AFC West. The question was if Wright believes the Chiefs are the team to beat. He blatantly says, “They’re not,” which he explained was due to the Tyreek Hill trade.

Wright believes that the Raiders will be number one in the division. Is Wright just saying bias because he played for the team last season, or does he have a valid argument?

Maybe a little bit of both.

The former linebacker may have brought up a solid point. He brings up head coach Josh McDaniels, wide receiver Davante Adams, and pass rusher Chandler Jones in the clip. The three most notable additions to this Vegas team will cause havoc on opposing defenses and offenses in 2022.

The Raiders will have an offensive-minded head coach. A coach who helped Tom Brady gain numerous Super Bowl victories in New England. Meanwhile, his new quarterback, Derek Carr, will have his collegiate number one target in Davante Adams.

Although the Chargers and Broncos also acquired talent via trades and free agents, the spotlight has to be on the Raiders. They now have arguably the top wide receiver in the league, paired up with one of the best tight ends in the league.

The Raiders have the “it” factor now. Vegas should be known as the team to beat in the AFC West. All that is left is for them to prove it.
