Continuing on with our Las Vegas Raiders player outlooks for 2022, today we will be looking at a newcomer to the Silver and Black, veteran edge defender Chandler Jones.
How Did Chandler Jones Fair In 2021?
Jones had yet another solid season for the Arizona Cardinals. He finished the season with 10.5 sacks despite missing two games. This was due in large part to a five sack season opener against the Titans. Overall, Jones had respectable production in 2021. Heck, it was good enough to earn a Pro-Bowl nod. However, based on the lofty precedent that Jones has set for himself, it was arguably a down year.
Looking just at the seasons in which he started at least 15 games, last year saw lows in sacks and tackles. This becomes less concerning when you look at some of the more advanced stats. His pressures and QB Hits last year were right around the numbers that he had in his 2019 All-Pro season. At 32, Jones has likely hit his peak, but he is still playing at an extremely high level.
