Former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette is once again in trouble with the law. At this point, it’s not exactly shocking when you consider his career trajectory both on and off the field.
As most Raiders fans will recall, back in January, news broke out that Arnette had been arrested and charged with two counts of assault. More specifically, assault with a deadly weapon. Along with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. And finally, possession of a class one or two level controlled substance and possession of marijuana or cannabis. Well, you can add driving with a suspended license to his repertoire.
According to Andy Slate of Fox Sports via The Spun, “Damon Arnette was arrested after he was pulled over twice for driving with a suspended license. When police officers searched Arnette, they found cocaine and a straw in his pocket.”
Cocaine use for Damon Arnette?
TMZ Sports reported that Arnette has been arrested today, this time for cocaine use.
There was more red flags than talent for Damon Arnette
Whether it’s bad luck or just blatant negligence, Arnette can’t seem to stay out of trouble. His video, where he was showing off a gun and threatening to kill someone, was the last straw for the Raiders. It would’ve been one thing if his on-field production was great. Let’s face it, the NFL isn’t a stranger to troublemakers that produce when it counts.
However, this was never the case for Arnette. In fact, he only played in 13 games for the Silver and Black. It’s even more frustrating when you realize that the Raiders could’ve drafted Justin Jefferson instead of Arnette. Oh what might’ve been.
