Hall of Fame Game: Raiders RB Committee Unlikely To Debut

The Hall of Fame Game, live from Canton, is just a few short hours away. While most of the team’s starters won’t be seeing action for the Las Vegas Raiders, the running back position is something to keep an eye on.

This year’s matchup between the Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars will feature several players looking to make a mark. The likelihood of seeing Josh Jacobs or Kenyan Drake is quite low. Jacobs will be the featured back, so there’s no use in risking his health. At the same time, Drake is coming off a major injury. However, it should be noted that Drake is impressing in camp with his veteran savviness and will likely be the No. 2 option in the backfield in the regular season.

Who should Raiders fans expect to see in today’s game?

Zamir White missed time recently in camp but returned this week, and it’s possible he’ll see action. Fans are eager to see what the rookie can bring to the table. Even though it should be noted that the O-line will surely see different lineups, impacting White’s effectiveness. But that could be said for any running back taking the field in Canton.

With seventh-round choice Brittain Brown missing some practice time, it’ll be interesting to see if he gets any snaps as well. While maybe not the most exciting names, it’s possible that Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah carry most of the weight against the Jaguars. The team also signed Austin Walter during camp recently. All in all, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him lace it up in a rare opportunity.

It’s only the first preseason game this year, so expect the Raiders’ running back committee to not truly develop until we inch closer to the regular season, if not Week 1.
