Raiders QB Derek Carr Isn’t Fazed By Tom Brady, Jon Gruden Hearsay

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has been at the center of offseason rumors and hearsay since he came into the league. The struggles of the Silver and Black have always left Carr to take the blame for its shortcomings. Everyone recalls the story surrounding Carr, Tom Brady, and Carr’s former coach (and neighbor) Jon Gruden. For those of you who don’t remember, UFC head honcho Dana White made sure to remind you this week.

The story surrounding Derek Carr, Jon Gruden, and Tom Brady that just won’t die

The Raiders and the New England Patriots are having joint practices this week, so it’s kind of a coincidence that the player most associated with the Pats is back in the news. Despite having already won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Gruden being gone from the NFL, the story made a comeback thanks to White. Of course, Raiders beat writers made sure to get a comment from Carr regarding this matter, despite the fact that it doesn’t have much bearing on the football field moving forward. It just goes to show that Carr continues to attract attention for off-the-field news. I mean, two years later, why did White feel the need to drop this?

Props to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal for asking Carr’s comment on the matter.

Derek Carr didn’t pay too much mind to the reports that came out last weekend linking Tom Brady to the @Raiders, and when asked if he’s grown immune to outside noise he said: “By now, I would hope so.”

The Raiders’ signal-caller is focused on this season

You wouldn’t have guessed that any of the Gruden/Brady/White talk was happening by seeing today’s practice. In fact, Bonsignore reported earlier today that Carr and Davante Adams had a strong outing against the Patriots. At one point, Carr connected with Adams for a beautiful reception that went for more than 30 yards. At this point, fans just want to see this duo take the field. Whatever happened with Brady and Gruden is now truly irrelevant.
