Recapping yesterday’s news which concluded the month of August. Among the headlines were Raiders players getting healthy again and another update on the Darren Waller situation.

Raiders’ TE Darren Waller, who has been seeking a contract extension throughout the off-season, signed this morning with agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. “The hope,” Rosenhaus said, “is to get this deal done as soon as possible.”

September 1st
Dave Ziegler’s quest to retool the offensive line’s backend has begun. After failing to trade away Alex Leatherwood, the former first-round pick was released. Now, the Raiders must move quickly to secure more linemen.

The Raiders have to contend with an AFC West stacked with upper-tier quarterbacks. Well, now they know that they have to deal with the Denver Broncos’ new signal-caller, Russell Wilson, for another five years.
Breaking: Broncos and Russell Wilson just reached agreement on a five-year, $245 million contract extension that includes $165 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.

In a surprise move by the Raiders, they cut Bam Olaseni’s tenure short, in fact, before it even began. He’ll no longer be on the practice squad.

Apparently, there’s a third member to Clelin Ferrel’s super group. He kindly referred to his teammate and close friend, Maxx Crosby, as “salt.” The former first round pick goes by “pepper,” whereas newcomer Chandler Jones has been dubbed “old spice.” That’s cute.

The search for more offensive linemen continues for the Raiders. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported today that veteran lineman Joe Haeg was visiting today.

Ziegler continued to make moves with regard to the practice squad; this time he got his secondary some reinforcements.

In addition to adding J.R. Reed to the practice squad, the team also added Vitaly Gurman to the offensive line. During practice, Gurman played different positions, showing how versatile he is.

September 2nd
Ziegler and the Raiders are apparently trying to add depth to their linebacker corps. Reggie Ragland is visiting with the Silver and Black today.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore said that Joe Haeg is visiting other teams, so the Raiders don’t have anything to worry about right now.

The Raiders have made some noise with regard to their defensive line; they released Tyler Lancaster and have signed Kyle Peko.
