As the Las Vegas Raiders prepare for their Week 2 bout with the Arizona Cardinals, several injuries continue to plague the roster. According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, several notable Raiders were absent from today’s practice. This puts their future and availability in doubt for this Sunday.
Raiders News: Team is without three starters today
#Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) isn’t out here, so it’s the same absences as yesterday for Vegas: Perryman, Moehrig, James and Bolden.

Denzel Perryman, Trevon Moehrig, and Andre James were unavailable at the Raiders’ practice facilities. James was taken by ambulance right after the Los Angeles Chargers game this past Sunday. Losing your starting center is a devastating injury, especially when you take into account how thin the offensive line is. As reported by Reed, the Raiders have rookie Dylan Parham taking snaps with the first team today. Most people agreed that Parham could possibly be the team’s center one day. However, never did anyone think it’d be happening in his second NFL game. If James isn’t cleared, facing the vaunted Arizona Cardinals’ pass-rush would be a trial by fire for Parham.
The second-year safety, Moehrig, saw limited action on Sunday due to a hip injury. The Raiders do have veteran depth behind him, which eases the loss somewhat. In another development, Perryman, the Pro Bowl linebacker, didn’t practice due to an ankle injury. As far as the Raiders’ linebackers go, if Perryman is unable to suit up, they’d likely trot out Divine Deablo and Jayon Brown. A leader on this defense, Perryman recorded three tackles and one tackle for a loss against the Chargers.
In more Raiders news, running back Brandon Bolden was also out today. Bolden, who caught a touchdown pass from Derek Carr on Sunday, also got three rushing attempts behind Josh Jacobs. This offseason, head coach Josh McDaniels made a point of stockpiling at the running back position. If Bolden’s out versus the Cardinals, expect more Ameer Abdullah. Maybe fans will get to see rookie Zamir White as well.
