The news broke earlier that Hunter Renfrow was going to be out for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. As Raider Nation recalls, Renfrow was on the receiving end of a big hit from Arizona Cardinals linebacker Isaiah Simmons that resulted in a costly fumble. It was a tough start for Renfrow this season, coughing up the ball in back-to-back weeks. Regardless, Renfrow’s value and impact for the Raiders can’t be understated. His injury highlights the story of both teams, the Raiders and the Tennessee Titans, and the unusually high number of injuries they’re facing.
With Renfrow out, quarterback Derek Carr will be without his go-to slot receiver for the first time since Weeks 12-14 of 2019, when he was inactive. Without question, one of the toughest Raiders players in recent history, Renfrow has seen issues arise with ball security. What’s more, Renfrow’s size is coming into question due to the nature of the hits he’s been receiving. Clearly, concussions are no laughing matter. The NFL takes this seriously, as do the Raiders. So, now what?
As far as Sunday’s game, Carr still has superstar wideout Davante Adams and tight end Darren Waller. Renfrow’s absence will surely translate into more looks for Mack Hollins, who saw eight targets last week. Raider Nation can now expect other Raiders’ receivers to step up, namely Tyron Johnson and Keelan Cole.
Raiders News: Raider Nation weighs in on Renfrow’s injury
It doesn’t take a detective to gauge the pulse of Raiders fans at the moment. A highly underwhelming 0-2 start, coupled with a litany of questions surrounding the O-line, Josh McDaniels, and Carr himself, has made for quite the atmosphere. by atmosphere. We’re referring to social media, more specifically, Raiders Twitter. Fans are never one to hold back, and as you can imagine, the response to Renfrow being out has been swift.

Always been overrated he was thrown into the spotlight cause of his Clemson days and Carr forcing him the ball when we had nobody else
