Prior to Monday Night Football getting underway, several Las Vegas Raiders blogs were urging the Silver and Black to run the ball. So far, that’s exactly what’s happening. Star running back Josh Jacobs is off to a dominant start for the Raiders.
At the time of this publishing, the Raiders got off to a 17-0 start against their divisional foes, thanks in part to Jacobs’s efforts.

Josh Jacobs is picking up where he left off vs. the Denver Broncos
With halftime just under ten minutes away, Jacobs has already compiled 55 yards, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He was able to punch it in just one yard out of the endzone at the 5:03 mark. Also of note, Jacobs broke off a bruising 21-yard run as he ran through the Chiefs’ defenders.
It’s obvious that Josh McDaniels is riding the hot hand in Jacobs, and why wouldn’t he? After his outing last Sunday, Jacobs is clearly playing like a man who wants a new contract. What better way to show that than to dominate the Chiefs’ run defense? A unit that, by the way, was ranked near the top of most NFL categories prior to the game. It’ll be interesting to see if the Raiders and McDaniels stick to this gameplan or make a shift in the second half.
