If you’re not too keen on the musings of Raider Nation on Twitter, this story might sound confusing, even downright stupid. However, last night, “Raiders Twitter” was ablaze with conjecture surrounding Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs. While none of the Raiders’ beat writers nor any verified sources such as Ian Rapoport were reporting anything, Jacobs found himself trending for the wrong reasons.
There were wild stories about Jacobs allegedly “assaulting” a waitress. As you might expect, Tweets surrounding this matter exploded. However, most people were waiting for official confirmation. Within a matter of an hour or less, you had No. 28 weigh in on the matter, sort of. In a Tweet that has since been deleted, Jacobs questioned what was going on. TMZ Sports Executive Producer, Michael J. Babcock, shot down any sort of story regarding Jacobs, calling it “false,” and pointed out that if anything had gone down, he’d “know.”
You’re hearing wrong. This is absolutely false. There’s no Josh Jacobs story, nor a story on any @Raiders players. Trust me, I’d know. @iAM_JoshJacobs https://t.co/HZkP2U1QdQ

Josh Jacobs’s Agent Has Also Shot Down Any Report
Paloma Villicana of Fox 5 Vegas also Tweeted out confirmation from Jacobs’ agent. Villicana mentioned that any reports surrounding Jacobs assaulting a waitress and getting taken into custody were indeed false.
Any reports regarding #Raiders running back Josh Jacobs assaulting a waitress and being taken into custody last night is “completely false” according to his agent.

It was an eventful night on Twitter, needless to say. Obviously, not all of Raider Nation is on Twitter, so maybe this story has escaped some people’s attention. However, for TMZ to have to send out what they did, and the fact that even Jacobs had to say something, goes to show the power of social media. At this point, we have no idea if this is the end of this story, but we’ll keep following any developments.
