What The Heck Is Going On In The Raiders Locker Room?

What the heck is going on in the Las Vegas Raiders locker room? More importantly, to whom was Derek Carr referring in his recent comments. To those of us looking in from the outside, there’s definitely something going on. More importantly, fans have been left wondering: which players on the rosters aren’t buying into Josh McDaniels’ coaching?

As most fans have witnessed by now, Carr let out his frustration following the team’s disappointing loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He talked about how he wished everyone was on the same page, outright saying he was “pissed off.” After Sunday’s debacle, folks took to social media presenting theories, mostly notably, that some of Carr’s comments were directed at Darren Waller. The Pro Bowl tight end has been a nonfactor this season (he’s currently on IR) after receiving a new deal a few months ago.

Raiders TE Darren Waller shot down any rumors

In a story via the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Waller shot down any conjecture about Carr’s comments being directed at him. In fact, he cleared up the matter by stating they have a mutual understanding about not taking things personally.

“Me and Derek talked about it. We know each other. We know how we’ve shown up, and we’ve been teammates for four years, so those kinds of things don’t affect our relationship.”

At the same time, there were reports that there’s been some “growing frustration” with regard to Waller’s absence, per the publication. It’s all very strange, though in Carr’s defense, he was upset, and sometimes things are said out of frustration. The word has been that the locker room is in good spirits this week. Moving forward, we’ll likely never know who Carr was talking about. That will be especially true if the Raiders win against the Denver Broncos.
