UFC Boss Can’t Help Himself, Rehashes Tom Brady To Raiders

UFC President Dana White can’t help himself, can he? The polarizing shot-caller rehashed the Tom Brady to the Las Vegas Raiders story again. Is it just me, or does he not miss a chance to talk about the role he supposedly played in one of the biggest “what-ifs” in team history?

By now, most Raiders fans have heard the story. Apparently, and this is according to White, the Raiders were in talks to acquire Brady and Rob Gronkowski, a move that would’ve divided the fanbase. Let’s face facts: Raiders fans want to win, but they also hate Brady. In all likelihood, it’s hard to tell if Raider Nation would’ve truly embraced No. 12, which is rather inconceivable if we’re being truthful. Regardless, Jon Gruden nixed the deal at that time; remember, this is according to White. The Raiders have never actually officially recognized whether they pursued Brady or not. Even owner Mark Davis has evaded the question over the past few years.

The reason why the story suddenly gained traction again is due to White’s appearance on Monday Night Football this week. While talking to the Manning Bros., Peyton and Eli, during their “Manningcast,” White responded to some questions regarding Brady’s future. Of course, White took full advantage of the opportunity and doubled down on his comments from earlier in the year. “The deal was in the works for both of those guys to come play for the Raiders,” White told the Mannings.

It’s the Raiders’ story that won’t die…

Well, it’s true. Somehow, the Brady-to-Raiders story continues to generate headlines. It goes to show the belief among some folks that Brady would’ve done some magical work with the Silver and Black. Or, it could just be a way for national outlets such as Fox Sports to gain some traction. Particularly given that both White and Brady are polarizing figures on the national stage, and reiterating my earlier point, this will surely go down as one of the biggest “what ifs,” if only we get official confirmation, maybe one day.
