Raiders HC Josh McDaniels & Tom Brady

“It’s A Fact” Tom Brady & Josh McDaniels Will Reunite With Raiders

Well, we can’t say we’re overly surprised with the recent developments surrounding Tom Brady. First, he denied the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ request for him to sideline himself on Sunday. Instead, he suited up and played. Now, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, a reunion between Brady and Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels could be inevitable.

The NFL world is on fire right now following Breer’s announcement. Essentially, Breer states that it is a “fact” that the Raiders are looking to bring in Brady. Additionally, Breer mentions that Jimmy Garoppolo is in play for the Silver and Black as well.

Tom Brady and Josh McDaniels: The Raiders Reunion?

Since arriving with the Raiders, McDaniels has been linked to his former quarterbacks. This is for a litany of reasons, chief among them their familiarity with McDaniels’ system. Just take a look at Jarrett Stidham and what he accomplished in just two starts for the Raiders. Being comfortable with McDaniels’ play-calling and the way he orchestrates the offense was something that made a difference. In case you didn’t know, Stidham was drafted by the New England Patriots back when McDaniels was running their offensive scheme and group. Despite putting up solid numbers, the difference between Derek Carr and Stidham was night and day. We’ll spare you another Carr debate here; nevertheless, it’s evident that McDaniels wanted “his guy” along despite all the offseason praise for Carr last year.

Looking ahead, it only makes sense that either Brady or Garoppolo will be wearing the Raiders’ uniform. In an optimal scenario, McDaniels would have a quarterback’s room with Brady or Garoppolo as QB1, Stidham as QB2, and you would draft a third quarterback at some point in this year’s NFL Draft.

There’s no love between Brady and a major portion of Raider Nation. That’s not a secret. However, the Raiders need to desperately win in Las Vegas. If owner Mark Davis wants more home fans in the stands, you put a winning product on the field. Whether that starts with Brady or Jimmy G. remains to be seen.
