Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Defends Josh McDaniels

Maxx Crosby Re-Emphasizes McDaniels Didn’t Lose Locker Room

The 2022 NFL regular season has come and gone for the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite the ups and many downs, not limited to record-breaking blown leads in a season, no changes were made to the coaching staff. Helping to further cement the status of head coach Josh McDaniels and Co. was recent praise from Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby.

While speaking to the media, Crosby defended his coach and once again dispelled the notion that McDaniels had lost the locker room this season. If you recall, other players were asked about this late in 2022. Josh Jacobs, among others, came to McDaniels’ defense at that time too. Crosby has followed suit, with the season now over.

“The thing about Josh, is he has been consistent, and that is all you can ask for. At the end of the day, we are all in this to do the same thing, and that is win. We want to bring Super Bowls, and we want to do all of these big things, but it’s a process.”

As far as Crosby is concerned, he understands Raider Nation’s frustration but believes the team is going in the right direction.

“We love Josh. I think he has done a great job. It is just obviously as fans, you want it right now, and as players, you want it right now; you want to win. From an outside perspective, you obviously want it right now.”

Maxx Crosby has obviously never been one to hold back. His candor and forthrightness have won over Raider Nation throughout his career. If you recall, he spoke up for fans following the collapse against the Los Angeles Rams this past season. The biggest takeaway from Crosby’s words is that he understands it’s all a process. Getting over this hump before next season will be critical, and it could cost McDaniels his job.
