Offensive line is far from what fans would consider a “sexy pick” in terms of the NFL Draft. Nonetheless, it’s a necessity for long-term stability, something that the Las Vegas Raiders have been unable to sustain for more than one year at a time (2016 and 2021). General manager Dave Ziegler understands this better than anyone, but will he go the “safe” route and select Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski?
Yes, the Raiders had an O-line that quietly made an impression last year. Just look at what they did for running back Josh Jacobs en route to an All-Pro designation. At the same time, is it sustainable without any major additions this offseason? Considering Skoronski’s talent and skill level, Ziegler could be looking at a potential impact starter at offensive tackle. More importantly, a player that could be a foundational piece for his vision—a tackle that can hold down the right (or left) side for a decade or more. That sounds all well and good, but there’s a caveat.
Skoronski was a successful college offensive tackle but he’s being prognosticated as a guard at the next level. That’s right, a guard; with the No. 7 overall pick? As you can imagine, Raider Nation has had a swift reaction to a report by Albert Breer that Ziegler and the Raiders could be in on the Skoronski sweepstakes.

Of course, Raiders fans are never a fan base that keeps their thoughts to themselves. To better gauge their pulse, we posed the question via The Raider Ramble’s Twitter account. We asked bluntly, “If Peter Skoronski is the pick, what’s your reaction?” As you can see from our results, their responses speak for themselves.
