Hunter Renfrow Trade Rumor Update, Jermaine Eluemunor Wants More “OL Love”

The future of Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow remains under speculation. However, a note from The Athletic’s Tashan Reed might shed some light on where Renfrow stands heading into the 2023 season. Meanwhile, on a lighter note, Raiders’ Jermaine Eluemunor appeared on “Upon Further Review” Thursday.

The 28-year-old jokingly noted that he hopes the offensive can receive a little love from the fans as they expect to allow the stars on the team to shine this season.

Is Hunter Renfrow staying put with the Raiders for now?

While there was speculation regarding Renfrow after he was not made available to the media on Wednesday, the rumor mill hitting overdrive might have been all for nothing.

Reed reported on Thursday, citing a league source, that the Raiders haven’t received any trade proposals for Renfrow. Furthermore, the 27-year-old will likely remain in Vegas as there’s no looming trade coming, but that can all change midway through the season before the NFL trade deadline.

Furthermore, Renfrow returned to action Thursday and partook throughout the last mandatory minicamp session to diffuse any trade speculation.

“The former Pro Bowler has proven to be a quality starter, but his contract is significant and would be a lot for a team to take on,” Reed wrote. “He has about a $13.1 million cap this season and more than a $13.7 million cap hit in 2024, according to Over the Cap.

“None of his 2024 salary is guaranteed, but a team likely isn’t going to give up significant resources for someone they view as a one-year rental. And if the Raiders ultimately do trade Renfrow, they’ll take a dead-money hit of about $1.8 million through 2026.”

Jermaine Eluemunor jokingly wants more love for the offensive line

The Raiders have a lot of star power on offense with Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs, but for Vegas’ star players to display their talents, they’ll have to rely on the offensive line. As a result, Eluemunor jokingly made his case for the group to get some affection on social media.

“We’re in the trenches doing all the work, so, you know, [Davante Adams] can look good, and Jimmy [Garoppolo] can look good this year, and Josh [Jacobs] can look good, you know, so Daniel [Carlson] can make his kicks, and AJ [Cole] can look great holding the ball for him,” Eluemunor said. “You know, just a little bit of love will be good.

“We’re never going to be like the [Adams] or the Jimmy level when it comes to pictures and everything, but I think the lineman look good. We’re wearing helmets and everything, so you don’t really see it, but we’re a good-looking group of guys.”
