Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Talks Chandler Jones, Plus, Tom Brady

Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Recalls Chandler Jones’ TD, More Insight Into Tom Brady Becoming An Owner

Tom Brady is focused on his post-NFL playing career, which includes being a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The former New England Patriots quarterback spoke in-depth with the Associated Press’ Brooke Lefferts (h/t Las Vegas Sun) about why he chose to purchase a stake in the Silver and Black. Speaking of the Patriots, Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby commented on one of the wilder plays from last season, Chandler Jones’ game-winning fumble recovery for a touchdown against New England.

Tom Brady reveals why he chose to invest in the Las Vegas Raiders

Brady, a Bay Area native, has never hidden that he grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan. However, the seven-time Super Bowl champion respects what the Raiders represent as an iconic brand for the NFL.

As a result, when the opportunity arose to be a minority owner, it seemed Brady couldn’t pass up on the chance, considering he’s committed to the franchise for the long haul and isn’t a phase as part of his retirement.

“I grew up in the Bay Area,” Tom Brady told the AP. “My favorite team was the 49ers. The team across the bay was the Raiders. And, you know, they’re an iconic NFL franchise. When I look at a lot of the people that have impacted the NFL over a long period of time in the most positive way, (former Raiders owner and GM), Al Davis is one of them. And he’s not with us anymore, but I’ve heard incredible stories.

“And then the opportunity came about to become a minority owner in the Raiders, it was a dream come true for me. I’ll be playing a very passive role. This is something that I’m interested in doing for the rest of my life.”

“This is not something that I’m into it for a year or two years. You know, I’ve got a lot of responsibility with my Fox job, which I take very seriously. But if I’m looking over the course of my life, to have the opportunity to be involved in the NFL is a dream come true. And if I could help the NFL and continue to contribute in a positive way, then you know, that’s been a very enjoyable part of my life.”

Maxx Crosby has a hilarious reaction to Chandler Jones’ TD from last season…

Chandler Jones’ fumble recovery and stiff arm to Patriots quarterback Mac Jones were two of the plays from last season that had many NFL fans just in awe of what happened.

New England, rather than running out the clock to go to overtime, had two lateral passes that ended up in Jones’ hands. The Raiders’ edge rusher returned it for the touchdown, giving Vegas a walk-off win.

Maxx Crosby spoke with Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Von Miller on a recent episode of “The Voncast,” where he provided his reaction to when the play occurred last season.

“I honestly, I couldn’t believe that actually happened,” Crosby told Miller. “And I knew it was the last play of the game … I’m expecting them to run the ball. Let’s go to OT; that’s where my mind was at.

“So when I [saw] Rhamondre [Stevenson], he threw it back to Jakobi [Meyers], and I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And so I just literally ran at Jakobi and cracked him a little bit late, but I thought I was kind of scared, low-key.”

“Because I thought it was going to be a flag. See, in [that] moment, I was like, ‘I can’t be the one that messed that up’ because it was insane. The place was so loud. I’ll never forget it.”

Well, there you have it. Surely, Raiders fans will be talking about that play for years to come as well.
