After a disappointing 2022 run by Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, no one wants to bounce back more than the Clemson product. Luckily for No. 13, reports out of Raiders training camp are saying Renfrow is “back.”
Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow is, by all accounts, just fine…
A Pro Bowler for the Raiders back in 2021, the man they call “Third and Renfrow” came into his own, more so after the tragedy surrounding Henry Ruggs III. He essentially became the top option for then-quarterback Derek Carr. After battling a concussion and a strained abdominal muscle, Renfrow was unable to recapture the previous season’s success. However, with his health in tow and playing with a new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo, the man who caught 103 passes in ’21 might finally be able to flourish under Josh McDaniels.
As far as Garoppolo goes, he’s been singing Renfrow’s praises this week as the team dueled with the Los Angeles Rams in joint practices.
“‘Hunt [Hunter Renfrow] has been awesome, man. He sees the field very well, makes it easy on me, and is very decisive in his routes. But all those guys—I mean him, ‘DC’ [Carter], tight ends even that work the slot—all those guys have been doing a good job. They give me easy targets, so it makes my job a lot easier,” said Garoppolo, speaking to the media this week.

Field vision and route running have never been issues for Renfrow; the concern for some fans was whether he’d recover from a health standpoint. According to CBS 8 Las Vegas’ Logan Reever, Renfrow is as explosive as ever. If what Reever is reporting holds water, the Raiders could have something special on offense brewing out in Henderson. Garoppolo himself is fully aware of what he has in Renfrow, going as far as saying that he knows he’s “made of the right s***.”
If this isn’t all ringing endorsements from Raiders camp, I don’t know what is.
