A win is a win, but Las Vegas Raiders star wideout Davante Adams knows there’s a way to go following the team’s narrow Week 5 victory.
If we’re being honest, the Green Bay Packers are not the team of old, not the same one that was once led by Aaron Rodgers. A squad that, yes, featured Adams himself. However, the Raiders (in particular Patrick Graham’s defense) clawed their way to victory on Monday night. Despite some questionable play calling by head coach Josh McDaniels, the Raiders overcame and gave Raider Nation in the confines of Allegiant Stadium something to remember.
Davante Adams knows that the Raiders still aren’t where they need to be…
As far as No. 17 goes, the man was all business following the action, which should surprise no one. Speaking to the press after Monday’s win (h/t Vegas Sports Today), Adams remained down to Earth, acknowledging the importance of the win while also letting it be known that the team has yet to reach its potential.
“It’s good; we need to make it a more familiar feeling. We did enough to get the win, but it’s still not looking the way we would like it to. At the end of the day, you do whatever you have to do to get the win. I think there’s another level we can take it to.”
It’s a fair assessment from the Raiders’ leader on offense; you can be proud of a win while remaining grounded. At the same time, the Raiders had lost three in a row coming into Monday Night Football. Another loss might’ve spelled doom for the Silver and Black—and judging from owner Mark Davis’s reactions during the game, who knows what might’ve happened?

For now, Davante Adams and the Raiders will take it in, dissect it, and then go back to the film to see what worked and what didn’t, especially on offense. Needless to say, if the defense is running on all cylinders like it has been, there’s definitely some potential for a run if the offense can get to the same level. The question is, can they? Let’s see if they can surpass 20 points in their next matchup.
