Zero. That’s how many points the Las Vegas Raiders scored coming off their bye week in their 3-0 loss against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. Furthermore, the mood in the locker might affect how the team finishes this 2023 NFL season.
The Silver and Black’s offense has struggled all season despite showing some flashes of life. However, the loss to the Vikings is an all-time low. As a result, it might be kind of hard to turn the page to finish this season on a positive note.
Logan Reever: Raiders locker room was gutted after loss to the Vikings
8 News Now sports anchor Logan Reever shared the mood of the Raiders squad right after the frustrating loss to the Vikings. Reever said he has witnessed some brutal sporting events where a team could face everything going wrong, and Las Vegas’ performance against Minnesota ranks right up there.
“The locker room mood after the fact was, to be honest, it was pretty gutted,” Reever said. “Using the term that Nate Hobbs did, ‘Sickening,’ I think he said it four or five times. Again, just trying to ask these guys about what emotion for this defense that went out there and gave up three points total, and they’re the ones that leave the field with the loss.”
Las Vegas has a defense that has the potential to be elite. They have flashed the potential under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham despite having certain holes, such as the lack of a co-star alongside Maxx Crosby on the defensive line. Nonetheless, the offense is a different story.
Is this the last straw for the Raiders offense?
Reever also shared his thoughts on the Raiders offense, and he believes that this is the last straw for the group and coaching staff to convince Raiders management that they have earned a chance to have an entire season. It’s time for swift changes to this offseason.
“I very much am of the belief that Antonio Pierce can be a head coach in this league, and it’s evident in the fact that they gave up three points in this game with his defensive mind and the way they’ve been trending all year long,” Reever added. “But there is one thing that is for sure offensively, this was the last straw. I think you need to clean house with a number of things.”
Should Pierce get the head coaching job, the first decision he needs to make is getting an offensive coordinator and a franchise quarterback (Hello, Jayden Daniels). Las Vegas has several attractive weapons, so the Raiders offense shouldn’t be this bad.
However, if the Raiders decide to pursue an offensive mind for head coach and a franchise quarterback afterward, the incoming person should consider keeping Graham in his role. If Las Vegas can plug some of the holes on defense, he can probably take the group to another level.
Raiders owner Mark Davis has a lot of decisions to make this offseason. One will be to make the right moves that put this franchise on the right track.

Current Raider coaching staff needs major revamping. Pierce should have a major say on his staff. Brady should be consulted on all organization issues. Having exclusive, experienced ex pro NFL players as part of the organization and coaching staff would create a 1st of a kind winning team. You gotta roll the dice on this Davis.

HELLO…?…ANYBODY IN THERE?…?
I have said it before the season started. They did not put one thing into the offensive line…NOTHING. Zip…Zilch…NADA…NOTHING.
Josh McIdiot did nothing to help the O line last off season. Even though he knew they needed help.
Now we need a whole new O line save Kolton who I am not too sure about after seeing him play as bad as he has this year. So we just might need everything. Two tackles, two guards and a center. That is 5 draft picks.
We can still trade up to get an elite QB like Jayden and still have enough picks left to draft a whole new O line. Anything else will have to come via trade or FA. We need a whole new O line and this cannot be ignored any longer like we did in the past.
Put Kolton and Maxx on IR the rest of the year. JJ too if needed. There is no sense in risking further and more serious injury to our elite players.
Jim Harbaugh and give him complete control of the team. All the speeches on
the field are not going to improve the offense. Give him complete control of all
team decisions no interference. Let him build his team and the raiders will contend.
Please do not hire another offensive coordinator genius.
