Denver Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix

Denver Broncos Look To Win Four Straight With Rookie Quarterback Bo Nix

The 2024 NFL season didn’t commence the way neither Bo Nix nor the Denver Broncos had hoped for. On top of starting with an 0-2 record, the team’s rookie quarterback didn’t show much to be excited about. However, three consecutive wins later, that’s all ancient history as the Broncos look to extend their winning streak to four.

Nix’s early struggles led to Denver’s Week 1 and 2 losses. Through these weeks, Nix completed 59.7% of his 77 pass attempts with zero passing touchdowns and four interceptions. The rookie totaled just 384 yards through the air in his first two starts combined.

It’s not about how you start – it’s about how you adjust and overcome adversity. Fortunately for the Broncos, Nix has been able to do just that.

Since the start of Week 3, it’s been a different story for Denver’s 12th-overall selection of this year’s draft. Not only has Nix’s completion percentage rose to 63.6% in this timeframe, but he’s managed to toss three touchdowns while throwing zero interceptions. Add another two scores using his legs during these weeks as well.

Bo Nix is playing turnover-free football, and the Broncos are winning games in bunches as a result.

Will Denver be able to best their division rivals from Los Angeles in Week 6 to continue their win-streak?

Denver Broncos, Bo Nix turn towards Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6

The Chargers’ season has gone the exact opposite of the Broncos. While Denver finished the season’s first two weeks winless, Los Angeles started hot by picking up two quick victories. Since, the Chargers haven’t been able to get themselves back in the win column.

Denver will be going against a well-rested Chargers team courtesy of an early bye. However, Los Angeles will be without their star cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. who was placed on the injured reserves list earlier today.

Week 6 will be a battle between two offenses that struggle in the red zone. Through five weeks, the Broncos rank 27th in red zone conversion percentage with a mark of 43.8%. Los Angeles isn’t too far ahead, posting the league’s 24th-highest percentage at 44.4%.

The red zone battle is only emphasized by the dominant red zone defense from both clubs. Both the Broncos and Chargers rank top-three in red zone stop percentage; Denver at 33.3% and Los Angeles at 28.6%.

Nix must continue keeping the ball safe. If he’s able to, advancing to 4-2 is plenty realistic for Denver. That’s not easy to do against the Chargers’ defense, however. Despite missing one week due to a bye, Los Angeles’ defense is currently tied for the 10th-most defensive turnovers and the third-highest turnover differential.
