Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll

Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders Make Plethora Of Coaching Changes

Step one for Pete Carroll upon joining the Las Vegas Raiders was figuring out who his three coordinators would be. Once that was done, it was time to move onto step two: ironing out both the positional coaches and coaching assistants.

Carroll and his team were able to take major steps towards that goal on Monday afternoon, bleeding into Tuesday morning.

Monday welcomed Pete’s son, Brennan Carroll, to Sin City as the team’s offensive line coach. Carroll served as both the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach of the Arizona Wildcats from ’21-’23, helping lead Arizona to 34.6 points scored on a weekly basis in 2023; the 18th-highest mark among all NCAA programs in the country. For reference, this tied with Florida State, the school led by Heisman winner Jayden Daniels.

And while Carroll won’t be serving as the Raiders offensive coordinator, his offensive prowess should be noted nonetheless.

Later in the day, it was announced Greg Olson, Sin City’s former offensive coordinator, would be returning to the team. This time, he’ll be serving as the quarterbacks coach.

No; he is not to be focused with Fox commentator and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen.

Gerald Alexander and Luke Steckel, both who were with the Raiders in 2024, have retained their roles moving forward. Alexander will continue being the team’s safeties coach while Steckel remains the tight ends coach.

Las Vegas Raiders part ways with multitude of coaches as Pete Carroll and coordinators continues building staff

Along with the hires, many coaches from Las Vegas’ ’24 campaign found themselves out of the picture moving forward.

Those coaches include: Scott Turner ([interim] offensive coordinator), Cadillac Williams (running backs), Edgar Bennett (wide receivers), Mike Caldwell (inside linebackers), Ricky Manning Jr. (cornerbacks), Fred Walker (assistant quarterbacks), Mitch Singler (assistant tight ends), Andre Carter (assistant defensive line), Josh Phillips (assistant defensive backs), and Norv Turner (senior advisor).

Some, such as Scott Turner, have already found themselves gigs with different clubs. Turner has become the new passing-game coordinator of the New York Jets.
