With Pete Carroll taking the reins for the Las Vegas Raiders, fans naturally began to drum up reunion scenarios. Chief among those potential visions was Russell Wilson joining his old coach in Sin City.
It is easy to wish for nostalgia from the legendary Seattle Seahawks. Wilson and Carroll together competed in the playoffs for five consecutive seasons. This includes their two Super Bowl appearances and one Lombardi trophy.
However, there is a new report that crushes the dreams of any fan hoping for this. During Super Bowl week, many of the most respected people in football all meet and rumors heat up. In this instance, FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer delivered a shocking revelation to Raiders and Steelers fans. Glazer predicts neither Justin Fields nor Wilson will be returning to Pittsburgh. But he also does not believe Wilson will join the Raiders.
Jay Glazer doesn’t think Russell Wilson will re-sign with Steelers or sign with Raiders: “I don’t think that’s gonna happen, either. I think you’ll see a new start for Russell somewhere.” #Steelers #NFL pic.twitter.com/SOpDIrYZWv

Russell Wilson and Justin Fields could both be gone…
“I don’t think [the Steelers] know who their starting quarterback is going to be yet,” Glazer said. This statement reveals the team’s high expectations for their 2024 playmaker. Despite the 36-year-old leading the team to a playoff ticket, they finished the season on a five-game losing streak. This led to the premature end of their season against the Baltimore Ravens.
There have also been rumors that Pittsburgh would not retain both of their pass throwers this offseason. Due to his running mobility, Fields could also attract interest from Sin City. Chip Kelly, the Raiders new offensive coordinator, has historically shown a love for mobile quarterbacks. Michael Vick and Marcus Mariota are the most notable performers in Kelly’s spread offense.

Options for the Raiders…
With the sixth pick in the NFL Draft, the Raiders probably cannot pick a quarterback at this spot. Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward will likely both be off the board at this point. On the opposing side, the Vikings have a difficult decision to make this offseason. Do they let Sam Darnold walk or open up J.J. McCarthy for a trade? One of the two is possibly an option for Vegas. The Silver and Black will be desperate for help in the quarterback department this offseason.
Trading up is still an option for the team. Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss could be available later in the draft as well. It will be fascinating to see what the new Raider regime decides this offseason.
