The theme of the Las Vegas Raiders’ ’25 offseason has been building through the trenches. That was made clear when the team extended Maxx Crosby, and continued staying true with extensions to Adam Butler, Malcolm Koonce and Zach Carter.
And, on Monday, that theme continued as Sin City welcomed defensive tackle Leki Fotu to town.
Las Vegas Raiders add defensive tackle Leki Fotu to roster
It was a rough year for Fotu in 2024, who ended his campaign with 46 defensive snaps on the season. These were anything but quality snaps, giving the Utah alum a defensive grade of 36.3 via Pro Football Focus.
For reference, this was the 13th-lowest grade among all defensive tackles across the NFL to log at least 20 defensive snaps in 2024.
Fotu’s ’23 performance was somewhat underwhelming as well. In 11 games, nine of those being penciled in as a starter, the now-Raiders defensive tackle logged career-highs in both the sacks (2.5) and tackles for loss (5) columns. However, this was the result of rather inefficient work.
With a missed tackle percentage of 17.2%, Fotu’s missed tackle percentage was the highest among all 10 Cardinals interior defensive linemen to record at least 40 snaps on the season. As a pass-rusher, Fotu beat opposing blockers 5.0% of the time. This gave the former fourth-round pick a snaps-to-pressure percentage of 4.2%; the 11th-lowest mark among all 14 Arizona defensive linemen to record at least two pressures that season.
Fotu was able to appear in all 17 games during his ’22 campaign, but there wasn’t much to sing about. Thanks to a 15.6% missed tackle percentage and a 3.9% stop percentage on running downs, the latter which was the lowest among all 15 Cardinals defensive linemen with any amount of stops on run downs during the ’22 season, Fotu earned a lowly grade of 37.9 against the run.
The now-26-year-old posted zero sacks throughout the season as well.
With the Raiders, the Oakland native will be competing for a roster spot with his home team. Perhaps a successful chapter is around the corner for Fotu.
