Las Vegas Raiders fans apparently would prefer Ashton Jeanty over Shedeur Sanders if it came down to those two during the NFL draft.
It’s an interesting stance when you take into account that many within Raider Nation are drawing a hard-line stance against taking a running back in the first round. On the other hand, our live poll reveals that some fans harbor a strong dislike for Sanders and refuse to change their minds. So much so that many of those hardliners would rather go with Jeanty (in theory, of course).
Funny enough, it’s plausible that both Jeanty and Sanders might be gone by the time that the Raiders have to pick. So there’s that–but where’s the fun in debating all of this if that’s true? Every year we see players drop and then we have those that make last-minute surges up the draft board. Basically, the Raiders could walk away with either one of these prospects.
Despite acquiring Geno Smith, addressing the long-term vision at quarterback should be general manager John Spytek’s priority. Taking Sanders, then having him be under Smith’s tutelage for a couple of years, could pay dividends. As for Jeanty, the Raiders would be adding a generational prospect that could elevate the run game to a place that it hasn’t been since Josh Jacobs’ All-Pro record campaign of a few years ago.
