GMFB Brandt Sees Something New With Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders

There’s a new feeling in the air when it comes to the Las Vegas Raiders under Pete Carroll. At least, that’s what Kyle Brandt of Good Morning Football thinks, who made that clear on Tuesday.

“Something I have not said about the Raiders for a while, the vibes are really good,” Brandt noted. “There’s fresh air in the building. It feels good.

“The coach, the quarterback, the new owner. It all just feels good. It feels like a commitment to adulthood.”

After hiring the tandem of Pete Carroll and John Spytek to lead the Las Vegas Raiders moving forward, the new regime went out and brought Geno Smith to Sin City. Then, they gave Smith a two-year extension, making the 34-year-old signal caller the second-lowest paid starting quarterback across the NFL, annually, who’s on a multi-year deal that isn’t a rookie contract.

Talk about value for the quarterback with the sixth-most wins in the NFL over the last three seasons combined.

“I think [the Raiders] will put a really good product on the field,” Brandt continued. “We’re getting the train back on the track. We have solid pros in Geno and Pete. And we need some more weapons; my good do we need some more weapons, especially in that division. But it feels fresh. It feels clean. It feels responsible. It’s just.. dare I say, sensible? And prudent? And I think right now, for a team who hasn’t won much this decade, It’s smart.”

That’s some of the highest praise the Silver and Black have received in a number of years. Coming off of a four-win season, Carroll and Spytek have their work cut out for them. Luckily, the 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and they possess the sixth-overall selection.
