Las Vegas Raiders Notes: Several Draft Busts In UFL, and more.

Should The Raiders Consider Adding Keenan Allen To Their Passing Attack?

Despite a relatively quiet offseason thus far for the Las Vegas Raiders, should general manager John Spytek consider bringing in a rival familiar with them in Keenan Allen. Despite a solid season with the Chicago Bears last year, many Raiders fans are familiar with Allen’s game. That, of course, is due to his decade-plus career with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite a drop in production (I mean, he’s about to be 33, folks) in 2024, Allen could still find a place within Chip Kelly’s offense in Las Vegas. Right now, the Silver and Black’s top receiving options are Jakobi Meyers and the best tight end in the NFL, Brock Bowers. They still feature their speedster in Tre Tucker but he hasn’t proven to be that consistent No. 3 option the team needs.

That’s where Keenan Allen comes in…

Depending on which Raiders content creator or beat write you subscribe to, you’ll hear different things in terms of what new head coach Pete Carroll wants to do. Is he trying to win right now or is it more about building for the future this season; such as drafting a quarterback, for example. Or, do they go after someone who can contribute from Day 1. Whether the Raiders would take a receiver with the sixth overall pick is up for debate; however, why not add Allen and give yourself a proven commodity at an otherwise thin position?

Pro Football Network certainly seems to agree that Allen and the Raiders makes sense. Adding to that, Allen has some history with the Las Vegas coaching staff. In particular, we’re referring to wide receivers coach Chris Beatty who coached Allen with the Chargers from 2021 to 2023. That rapport would certainly bode well for a potential reunion.
