NFL Draft: 3 Prospects The Raiders Could Take On Day 2

With the sixth overall pick, the Las Vegas Raiders have many opportunities to find a true difference-maker in the first round of the draft. However, that’s not the only day they can grab an impactful player.

The second day of the draft will have many intriguing names as well. Let’s look at three players who haven’t been connected to the Raiders a ton over the past month or two but still could be taken by Las Vegas in the second or third rounds.

Three Realistic Options On Day 2 For The Raiders

Shavon Revel, CB, Eastern Carolina

Although he’s coming off an injury, Revel makes a lot of sense for the Raiders in the second or third round.

Revel is a big, long, fast cornerback. He’s quick enough to keep up with faster receivers in press coverage but also does well with his hands when he needs to disrupt a route near the line of scrimmage. His length, vision, and overall football IQ also help him in zone coverage.

However, Revel can be too upright in his coverage, giving him a high center of gravity and making it easier for receivers to gain separation in their routes. He’s also coming off an ACL injury suffered early in the 2024 season.

Revel’s injured ACL has caused him to slide down some draft boards, but he should be ready for the 2025 season. If he slides to the Raiders in the middle rounds, that’d be a smart addition.

Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse

Throughout the entirety of the 2024 season, the quarterback position was a spot many thought the Raiders would be desperate to upgrade during the upcoming draft. Now that Geno Smith is in town for the next three years, it’s much less of a need.

With that said, landing a player like Kyle McCord in the third or fourth round could be a favorable pick. McCord’s collegiate career was marked by ups and downs, as he played decently well at Ohio State in 2023 before transferring to Syracuse in 2024, where he had a significantly better season.

He wouldn’t be starting games anytime soon, ideally. Still, he’d be a nice young face to add to the QB room. If Smith ever goes down with an injury, McCord could be a nice backup plan. While it’s not likely, maybe the Raiders get lucky and he even ends up being their quarterback of the future.

Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma

The Raiders did make one notable addition to this position this offseason, bringing in Elandon Roberts. However, their linebacker room is still lacking the depth many desire, especially with Robert Spillane now gone.

Danny Stutsman would be a solid rookie to add to the group on Day 2 of the draft. He has the size you want out of a linebacker but pairs that with surprisingly impressive speed. Stutsman is quick for the position and is able to keep up with running backs and tight ends in coverage. He diagnoses running schemes well and can deliver some pop when coming downhill on ball carriers.

The Raiders do already have some youngsters in the linebacker room. Stutsman would bring much more potential to the position, though.
