As the 2025 NFL Draft continues approaching rapidly, Ashton Jeanty continues being who many insiders believe the Las Vegas Raiders will be selecting at sixth-overall. That is, if the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t get there first, who have been heavily linked to the Boise State superstar.
Jeanty is coming off of a season that’s nothing short of historic. He led all runners across the FBS in virtually every positive stat possible, recording analytics that don’t even feel possible.
For instance, Jeanty was met either at or behind the line of scrimmage 347 times in 2024. The 21-year-old gained 1,489 yards after contact on these plays, netting 1,099 positive yards from the line of scrimmage onward. No other runner in the history of college football has accumulated 1,000-plus positive yards in a season on plays where they were met either at or behind the line of scrimmage.
Impressive, right?
Here’s another one–Per Pro Football Focus‘ database, Ashton Jeanty’s 99.9 grade is the highest ever recorded throughout a runner’s collegiate career. Jeanty’s 284 forced missed tackles throughout his three-year college career ranks first in college football history as well. And, with 3,557 yards after contact, Jeanty ends his college career with the second-most yards ever recorded post-contact.
16 of those 284 forced missed tackles came in his final college contest against Penn State. To put this number into perspective, no runner in the entirety of the FBS forced more than 15 missed tackles in any week against any school, regardless of the competition, throughout the 2024 season.
Well, except Ashton Jeanty himself, who beat that mark on three occasions, including against Penn State’s phenomenal defense.
