Raiders Owner Tom Brady Reportedly Calls Skip Bayless An “Idiot” Over Shedeur Sanders Take

Skip Bayless is no stranger to controversy; however, Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady allegedly wasn’t too thrilled over a recent Shedeur Sanders take. He reportedly referred to the media pundit as an “idiot.”

All offseason prior to the NFL draft, we heard about the connection between Brady and the new Cleveland Browns quarterback. However, it proved to be in vain as the Raiders repeatedly passed on Sanders. That was despite long-term questions and concerns about the quarterback position in Las Vegas. Clearly, those concerns did not justify taking a risk on the polarizing former Colorado signal-caller.

Well, Bayless couldn’t help himself as he joined in on the chatter surrounding Sanders–but more importantly, he took the route of highlighting Brady and the Raiders.

“It is now pretty clear Tom Brady, who mentored Shedeur, told the Raiders NOT to take Shedeur. Duly noted.” –Bayless via X/Twitter

Bayless kept going, asking how Brady’s team could repeatedly pass on Sanders–he also made light of the “mentoring” from Brady to Sanders. On top of that, Bayless brought up the notion of Brady’s involvement with the organization’s decision-making.

Tom Brady and the Raiders don’t concern themselves with media pundits…

Brady nor the Raiders have publicly responded to Bayless; why would they? They have bigger concerns than to address a media pundit clinging to relevance. Still, an anonymous source (via the Daily Mail) told the publication that Brady wasn’t exactly thrilled with Bayless.

“Tom thinks that Skip Bayless is an idiot for thinking he had anything to do with Shedeur’s downfall in the NFL Draft. Tom has limited say in what players the Raiders pick in the NFL Draft or whoever they sign. Now that Tom is in the media himself and has had to deal with Skip forever, it is just another ridiculous accusation that Tom isn’t going to give any life to for Skip’s benefit. It is just stupid banter.”

Banter or not, the development surrounding Sanders and the Raiders merits some debate. It’s curious to see that after Brady’s coaching of Sanders and Raiders majority owner Mark Davis’ photo op, the team wouldn’t bother with a fourth or fifth round pick. Perhaps we’ll know the full story one day.
