The Las Vegas Raiders having a star in Maxx Crosby is Sin City’s worst kept secret–nobody knows that better than NFL personnel.
That’s exactly why Crosby earned a high placement on the league’s top edge rushers list.
Where NFL executives, coaches and scouts rank Las Vegas Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby
After spending the week surveying executives, coaches and scouts across the National Football League, ESPN compiled a list of the league’s top edge rushers in the eyes of those who make the football world go round.
And thanks to Jeremy Fowler, the numbers are in–that includes the placement of Maxx Crosby.
In some ways, it’s hard to rank Crosby among his peers following a campaign that ended short. The two-time All-Pro suffered an ankle injury during Week 2’s contest against the Baltimore Ravens, playing through the pain in the following weeks to continue his season.
Up until Week 14, when the 27-year-old reaggravated his ankle and shut down shop for the remainder of the year.
On the other hand, Crosby’s injury-riddled campaign gave a close look at the player he truly is. Despite fighting ankle pain throughout the year, the Eastern Michigan alum finished his season with 7.5 sacks and 54 total pressures, besting his blockers 12.7% of the time.
Perhaps that’s why Crosby moved up a spot from last year’s ranking among the same executives, coaches and scouts.
Following his ’24 campaign, Crosby was voted the fifth-best edge rusher league-wide. And after fighting with his ankle for most of the year while maintaining quality production, ‘Mad Maxx’ moved up to four.
Behind an elite trio consisting of Myles Garrett, T.J. Watt and Micah Parsons.
For Crosby, this is the third time in three years he’s moved up a spot. He’s on the fast-track to a top-three ranking next offseason, too.
As Fowler notes, nearly half of those who voted put Crosby in the top-three. And that’s after missing multiple contests for the first time in his professional career.
In the meantime, Crosby lands just shy of a top-three spot, earning the highest placement of his career at four. His upward trajectory among NFL personnel continues.
