Raiders News: Jauan Jennings, and more.

Wide receiver trade scenarios continue to emerge for the Raiders

Should the Las Vegas Raiders consider trading for a wide receiver? Online scenarios continue to generate buzz for Sin City.

In terms of “needs” for the Raiders, there are still some concerns with regard to the roster. As training camp approaches this month, there may be some roster additions. Many fans continue to perceive the position of cornerback as a significant weakness that requires immediate attention.

However, could general manager John Spytek be contemplating a major trade? More importantly, what if that trade were for a receiver rather than a cornerback?

The online community keeps suggesting trade scenarios where the Raiders are actively seeking a player. The biggest names thus far are Terry McLaurin and Jauan Jennings. McLaurin, the Washington Commanders star, is unsure about his future. There still hasn’t been much progress regarding a long-term commitment from his team. Consequently, speculation continues to increase as a training camp holdout seems likely.

Should the Las Vegas Raiders make a trade?

The other name, as you can see in our Twitter/X poll, is San Francisco 49ers wideout Jauan Jennings.

If you’re not very familiar with Jennings’ development in the Bay Area, the former Tennessee standout truly emerged in 2024. After accumulating just 698 receiving yards in his first three seasons, the 2020 seventh-round draft pick came remarkably close to reaching 1,000 yards last season, finishing with 975. Additionally, he showcased his potential as a genuine scoring threat by recording six touchdowns last year—he had only managed seven touchdowns combined in his first three seasons with the 49ers.

The fact is, the depth at wide receiver for the Raiders is a bit of a puzzle at the moment. Although there is a lot of potential, the Raiders lack proven production from their wide receivers aside from Jakobi Meyers. If no trade occurs before the regular season begins, it will be clear that head coach Pete Carroll is relying heavily on his young receivers to deliver results immediately.
