Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is coming off a historic rookie season—one that has propelled him into notable NFL recognition.
Before his rookie campaign, Bowers was expected to be a generational tight end. Even with those high expectations, he managed to surpass them during his first season. After just one year, he has already secured a spot on the NFL Top 100 list. This season marks only the beginning for No. 89.
The two-time John Mackey Award winner’s potential is boundless.
George Kittle gives high praise to Brock Bowers…
`To start, one of the main folk tellers of the tale of 2025 Bowers is George Kittle. Kittle is one of the best tight ends of this generation and rightfully so. He is a six-time Pro Bowler and finished last season with over 1,100 yards receiving.
“[Bowers] attacks each week like they are playing for the playoffs,” Kittle said. “You love to see that from players.”
Last season was certainly memorable for Las Vegas, but unfortunately, not for the right reasons. Despite the constant changes in coaching and the quarterback situation, No. 89 managed to persevere. Additionally, the San Francisco 49ers tight end shared his thoughts on what makes the Raiders star stand out.
“He works his tail off; he catches everything,” Kittle said. “I thoroughly enjoy watching Brock [Bowers] play.”
Former teammates Alexander Mattison and Robert Spillane shed light…
The most memorable moment for the former Raiders running back was the one-handed catch by Bowers against the Kansas City Chiefs. This catch was on Trent McDuffie, a high-profile cornerback in a rivalry game. In addition to this highlight play, the Georgia alum finished with 10 receptions for 140 yards and a touchdown.
“The way he is just so effortlessly in and out of his routes is different,” Mattison said.
Another former teammate who spoke about the star is Robert Spillane. In 2024, the middle linebacker was the captain of the Raiders defense. He was the next best player behind Maxx Crosby. His words hold some weight for any player in the NFL. While on the sideline last season, Spillane was heard voicing his opinion.
“All-time leading rookie receiver,” Spillane stated. “Get him the ball.”
Entering just his second season, one could argue that Bowers is already the best tight end in the league. What’s even more worrisome for the AFC West is the potential for Bowers to reach unprecedented heights now that Geno Smith has stabilized the quarterback position.
