The Las Vegas Raiders and Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid are teaming up to make a difference off the field. On Monday, Sept. 8, Raiders safety Jeremy Chinn and The Jeremy Chinn Foundation will host a special celebration to kick off the football season for residents of HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center (SWHYC).
The Las Vegas Raiders continue making a difference in the community…
The event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and aims to foster joy, connection, and community spirit among young people experiencing homelessness. Attendees can look forward to dinner provided by Big Chicken. Additionally, there will be a live DJ performance by Arlene Barba. Engaging activities will include an inflatable football game. To enhance confidence and well-being, Faded Barbershop Lounge LV will offer complimentary haircuts.
Beyond the fun and festivities, Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid will provide each attendee with essential items. These items will include a hoodie, shorts, athletic sandals, and a drawstring backpack. Organizers emphasized that these gifts go beyond material support; they serve as a reminder that every young person at SWHYC is valued and seen.
Speakers at the event include Jeremy Chinn, HELP of Southern Nevada President and CEO Fuilala Riley, and Abby Quinn, the organization’s Chief Community Relations Officer. Together, they aim to highlight the challenges and resilience of local youth while emphasizing the value of community partnerships.
The celebration will take place at the Shannon West Homeless Youth Center. It is located at 1650 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. By blending the excitement of football with meaningful support, Chinn and Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid are working to ensure that the spirit of the season extends well beyond the field.
