AFC West: Ranking RBs

AFC West Power Rankings: Chargers Running Away, Raiders Sinking

It is a new week in the NFL, which means it is time to update our AFC West Power Rankings. Let’s see how this week’s division head-to-heads affected the standings.

4. Las Vegas Raiders

Trending: Down

The Raiders look a little worse every week. This was a new low, as they got spanked by a Commanders team quarterbacked by Marcus Mariota. Las Vegas needs to steady the ship in a hurry. This week, at home against the Bears, they have a fantastic opportunity to win or at least look respectable. If they cannot, a third straight double-digit loss would be venturing deep into dumpster fire territory.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

Trending: Steady

The Chiefs took care of business Sunday night against the Giants. It is too early to say that they are back, but at least Kansas City is no longer in free fall. The game was more of a statement about just how awful New York is than anything else. We will find out much more about the Chiefs when they host the Ravens this coming Sunday.

2. Denver Broncos

Trending: Steady

The last two weeks have been very frustrating for the Denver team. This team would be undefeated and leading the AFC West right now if not for back-to-back blown leads in the fourth quarter. The team currently has a losing record and is tied for second place in the division alongside the Raiders and Chiefs. It’s worth noting that both of their losses have been against undefeated teams. The Broncos are certainly performing better than their record indicates. They have a significant opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities on Monday night when they face the Bengals.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Trending: Up

Los Angeles had their biggest test of the season thus far this week. A tough Broncos team gave them all they could handle and actually had them down by a touchdown heading into the fourth quarter. The Chargers responded to the challenge. Despite being sacked five times in this game, Justin Herbert found a way to will his team a couple of late scores to steal a win and improve to 3-0, not just overall, but in the AFC West as well. Los Angeles gets a bit of a reprieve this week as they head to New York to take on the winless Giants.
