Another week in the NFL has passed, which means that we need to update the AFC West power rankings once more. Let’s see how the division stacks up.
4. Las Vegas Raiders
Trending: Steady
The Raiders mercifully had a bye this past week, which means they did not lose in embarrassing fashion. Las Vegas had a week off to recover and make necessary adjustments on both offense and defense. We will quickly see if there has been any improvement as the Raiders return from the bye week to face a challenging matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
3. Los Angeles Chargers
Trending: Up
Are the Chargers back? They looked as dominant as they did back in early September in their blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings. However, it is important to keep in mind that it was against a hobbled Carson Wentz and that Thursday Night Football is not real football. Nevertheless, there is still time to turn things around and the Chargers certainly took a step in the right direction. They have a great opportunity to keep things rolling this week when they take on the Tennessee Titans.
2. Denver Broncos
Trending: Up
After a couple of unconvincing wins over the New York teams, the Broncos left no doubt in their dominant win over the Cowboys. Bo Nix looked solid, albeit against a terrible Dallas secondary. If he can keep that level of play up, Denver just might be able to hold off Kansas City for the AFC West crown. This week will be a notable test of that, as Nix will face a stout Texans defense.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Trending: Steady
The Chiefs experienced two distinct halves on Monday night. They started the game sluggishly. Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions in the first half and Kansas City limped into the locker room tied at seven with a Commanders team led by Marcus Mariota. However, the Chiefs erupted in the second half and trounced Washington 28-7. But they must keep it up for four quarters, as they face Josh Allen and the Bills in Buffalo this week.
