Assuming that the Las Vegas Raiders and general manager John Spytek will be in a prime position to draft a quarterback next year, who should be the pick: Ty Simpson or Fernando Mendoza?
Vote on our live poll, Raider Nation.
In case you missed it, we recently pointed out Simpson as the draft choice in our first edition of “Monday Morning Mock Draft.” There are some intangibles and strengths that certainly make him a worthy selection. The fact is, the Raiders cannot afford not to select a quarterback from this upcoming draft class.
Though there are looming questions about who will then groom this signal-caller starting in 2026—Pete Carroll, someone else?
The Raiders must turn things around sooner rather than later. The 2025 season was a wash, with no progress on either side of the ball and a coaching staff hesitant to develop players, which likely damaged the roster. A rookie quarterback alone cannot fix everything, but, as seen with other organizations’ quick turnarounds, it often starts with that position. Yes, you already know.
