After all of the heavy trade rumors for years, Maxx Crosby was finally traded. Despite being a phenomenal player, his production has not contributed to wins. It is another amazing player that is leaving the organization. This is a tough pill to swallow for Las Vegas Raiders fans.
However, this is the best way to rebuild a roster. Trade away an aging player and receive top quality draft capital. This is what happened with the Seattle Seahawks when Russell Wilson was traded. In similar fashion, the Detroit Lions traded away Matthew Stafford.
As a result, the franchises transformed one player into multiple young stars. Because of the extra draft capital, the rosters were filled with young players on rookie contracts.
It’s up to Raiders’ general manager John Spytek to do this the right way. To restore the commitment to excellence in Sin City.
Draft players that can make an impact…
Obviously, this is not the first time Las Vegas has traded away a star pass rusher for draft capital. In reality, heavy draft capital does not guarantee quality players. The Silver and Black are synonymous with drafting busts. It is of the utmost importance that every early draft pick is valuable.
Some people will say the team made the wrong decision drafting Ashton Jeanty. This cannot be a conversation if the team drafts Fernando Mendoza. Fix the offensive line so both players can make an impact. In addition, ensure the pick no. 14 is a staple on defense or the last piece on offense.
In other words, make the right picks on draft night.
The Raiders defense needs multiple stars; not just one…
Crosby and Khalil Mack experienced similar trauma with the Silver and Black. Offenses schemed for them, but was unfazed by anybody else. Competitive defenses need a great scheme and multiple talented players. In present time, Las Vegas arguably has the worst defense in the NFL. There is no player that sparks fear into offenses on the roster.
Spytek needs to address this in multiple ways. The front office has the most salary cap and the most draft capital. In particular, the Raiders have lacked a lockdown cornerback for many years. This is something that all of the most successful franchises have. Additionally, a star linebacker that can be the captain of this ship is a huge need.
Although losing Crosby is a tragedy, this is the blueprint to building a roster the right way. It is up to the front office to determine the future of this franchise.

I would love to see the Raiders now go after Bengals Trey Henderson or just get an Awesome edge at pick 14. RN4L68
