Raiders’ Defense Showcasing Impressive Youth

The Oakland Raiders are now 0-3 in this year’s NFL Preseason, and despite what pundits are saying, the defense has shown some young, bright spots we can look forward to seeing.

While there’s little argument that this team will go as far as quarterback Derek Carr will take them, the defense will have to do its part, and in spite of the final score, the first team defense did a solid job yesterday. What’s impressing so far in the preseason is the youngsters on the squad as we all know this defense is anchored by the likes of Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin.

As Raider Nation Looks ahead to the regular season in the Raiders’ game versus the Titans, the Silver and Black’s receiving corps will be facing no small task when they are covered by the likes of Logan Ryan and rookie Adoree Jackson.

As PFF pointed out a few days ago via Twitter, the Raiders’ offense will continue featuring one of the best duos in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, and in his defense, Seth Roberts is no slouch as a third option.

A Son’s Retrospect: A look at a Raiders’ Legend

Having grown up a Los Angeles Raiders fan in a family that bled “Silver and Black,” I was always familiar with the names that came to define the particular era; Marcus Allen, Howie Long, and of course, Todd Christensen. Lately, there’s been a lot of discussions and justifiably so, of when Cliff Branch will be enshrined in the NFL Hall Of Fame in Canton, Ohio but what about Christensen? A tight end that to his credit helped revolutionize the position also merits discussion.
