Why Raiders Fans should not hit the panic button yet

Let’s start off by saying this is still the preseason. However, this will not be acceptable to most Raiders fans. Why? Because they heard this same excuse last year and it took seven weeks into the regular season before the defense started playing at an acceptable level. Some fans refuse to believe even that.

Raiders K: Sebastian Janikowski

The State of The Oakland Raiders’ Special Teams

Even during the Oakland Raiders’ “Dark Age,” one of the beacons of hope that was and continues to shine, is the special teams unit. Led by Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler, the Silver and Black had one of the most talented and efficient special team’s groups in the NFL. In fact, the team always ranked near the top of the kicking game thanks to the sturdy sets of legs these two brought, regardless of the record.

Flash forward to the present, and while much has changed from top to bottom in the organization, the “Sea Bass” persists. Now joined by walking meme Marquette King, the Raiders still boast two of the biggest and best legs in the game.

Derek Carr

NFL Network: Derek Carr’s the NFL’s 11th best?

Earlier this week, quarterback Derek Carr was voted 11 in the NFL’s Top 100 Countdown and although it is nice to be recognized and receive as many accolades as possible, we have to remember that this show is nothing but a filler during the offseason and there are better ways to determine how good a player is.

Raiders Learn the Time Frame of their New Home

Originally reported in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and Tweeted by Ian Rapoport, the Las Vegas Stadium Authority has released a preliminary timeline for construction of a new stadium on land purchased by the raiders for $77.5 million on May 1. The stadium authority board is expected to discuss the timeline during a scheduled Thursday meeting at the Clark County Government Center.

Marshawn Lynch

Newest Raider on Marshawn Lynch: “He runs angry”

Widely considered to be a steal for the Raiders, Hood will have plenty of time to develop his own game and adjust to the professional ranks though running behind Lynch will also help. For now, fans know Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington are backing up Lynch yet neither are considered ”power” runners or a “between the tackles”-type of back. With this said, Hood finds himself with an excellent opportunity and assuming he’s a part of general manager Reggie McKenzie’s long-term plans then Raider Nation might want to start remembering this kid’s name.
