The Las Vegas Raiders are closer to playing in Sin City and Raider Nation can’t wait. For his part, Bay Area native rapper MC Hammer isn’t hiding how ecstatic he is, predicting the Raiders will finish the season with a winning record.
In Eddie Paskal’s Upon Further Review podcast, Hammer shared his thoughts about his fandom and the Raiders moving to Las Vegas:
My dad lives in Las Vegas, my mother has a house in Las Vegas. My family, when they came from down South, they came to two places, they came to Oakland, the Bay Area and the rest of my family came to Las Vegas and they’re still there. I’ll be extremely comfortable coming eight times a year, making it to every game and supporting Raider Nation.

The entertainer also says that Vegas “is gonna be one of the most unique experiences in the game, in the NFL. Teams that play against the Raiders, their entire fanbase wanna make weekends when they’re playing the Raiders, it will be a big deal. They want to come to Las Vegas and support their team, but they get the Las Vegas experience while they play the Raiders. You can’t beat it.”
To round up his appearance, Hammer says that a 12 win season is totally possible, “we have the making of a team that without a doubt can be a playoff team next year and next season and all we need to do is make a few adjustments, we need some corners to help out, so we make some defensive adjustments, we have a nice rush coming on, so it’s within our [means] to win 12 games next year. It can happen, 11 games, 12 games. We can do that next year.”
Hammer is right as less plausible things have happened in the NFL, but for the Raiders to have a winning record, they need to keep bringing in talent. The draft and free agency will provide just that.
