Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr recently posted a video of him working out with teammates ahead of the 2020 season.
Carr often uploads content on his YouTube channel and his Twitter account. It’s just that this video is different from others he’s posted.
The video shows Carr throwing passes to Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, and Zay Jones. In it, we don’t see the quarterback talk and that’s what makes it refreshing. In recent posts on social media and interviews, he talks about how he’s changed. He says he doesn’t care about what others think of him anymore and is focused on winning.

Talking about how Carr doesn’t worry about others is contradictory. If he weren’t concerned, he wouldn’t even spend time addressing the situation. It’s just not practical and time-consuming. In his latest video, he takes a different direction and doesn’t say a word.
It’s not that Carr shouldn’t have a personality; all players do. It’s just that his results on the field haven’t been good. Quarterbacks aren’t solely responsible for a team’s winning record. However, they are the players that have the most impact, and Carr hasn’t had much success in the winning column in spite of having a good statistical year in 2019.
In his six seasons with the Raiders, Carr has only had one winning season and had a 7-9 record last year. In spite of ranking ninth in passing yards, the team was 24th in points scored. In the end, Derek Carr has to bear some responsibility for the results on offense or lack thereof.
Carr’s latest videos were good, but him leading the Raiders back to the playoffs will be even better. If the Silver and Black become a perennial playoff team with Carr leading the way, nobody will mind what he talks or doesn’t talk about.
