Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow Continues To Be a Steady Contributor

While the media has devoted plenty of attention to other Las Vegas Raiders wide receivers, Hunter Renfrow continues to be reliable even if under the radar.

The Raiders offense continues to improve each week as quarterback Derek Carr spreads around the offense to pretty much every receiver. Carr keeps relying on tight end, Darren Waller while he trusts Henry Ruggs III and Nelson Agholor make highlight-reel catches. Sometimes overlooked, Hunter Renfrow continues to provide a reliable pair of hands in his sophomore campaign.

In fact, Renfrow is making on good his nickname of “Third and Renfrow” this year. So far, Renfrow has already converted twelve third downs on his own in 2020. While not as flashy as some of his cohorts, the Clemson standout is having an excellent season.

Renfrow Continues To Deliver For The Raiders

Renfrow has been clutch all year long, so much so that by Week 4, he had a 71.1 Pro Football Focus grade. That grade actually went up after the win in Kansas City, and now has a 72.7 grade. His reliability is second to none and has only dropped one pass all year for the Raiders. Unbeknownst to some, but while Renfrow might not have flashy speed, he is averaging 14.2 yards per reception.

Another important facet of Renfrow’s game is the yards he fights for after coming down with a pass. He is totaling 103 yards after the catch and is averaging 6.1 yards per reception after making the catch.

While Renfrow might not be getting a ton of targets, this might be a good sign meaning the Raiders have more weapons on offense. Be that as it may, Carr will always look to Renfrow when he needs that timely reception, his moniker wasn’t given to him for no reason.
