It was an ugly and crushing loss for the Las Vegas Raiders. It encompassed everything that’s wrong with them this year. As always, observers and Raider Nation had plenty to say on Twitter.
In a matchup that the Raiders desperately needed to keep their playoffs’ hopes alive, the defense once again fell flat. The terrible defense defensive coordinator Paul Guenther put together continues to be 2020’s catalyst. For all the excellent play by quarterback Derek Carr and the offense, it’s the defense that drags the team down.
The Indianapolis Colts were going to be a difficult contest given how good the defense was, that was no secret. To the Raiders’ credit, it was a close contest until the second half, and then, the defense collapsed. Well, that’s enough from us, let’s see what Twitter had to say about this demoralizing defeat.

What Are People Saying About This Raiders Loss?
I think there is talent but poor play calling. DC cannot do anything. No pass rush. Secondary is beat up but not that good. Abrams isn’t that good and reckless. Paully G got to go. Hand over play calling to younger more creative play caller. I did like Zay TD pass

Raiders lose 44-27 and fall to 7-6, have lost three of four. Despite what players and coaches said, it’s last season all over again.

Until the #Raiders fix their defense they will never contend. Ever. Period.

This is why it matters how you win during a playoff push. #Raiders had that GW TD against the #Jets, but you could still see the glaring issues that would pop up against playoff competition. And we’re seeing all of it today.
It’s always “Just Win Baby,” but the details matter.

The common trend with everyone’s responses on Raiders Twitter is the same as it always been, the defense. As user @Oaklraiders1976 said, unless the defensive unit is fixed, nothing will change for the Silver and Black.
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report said it best, even though the Raiders escaped the Meadowlands with a win, the issues were still there. A terrible loss like today’s only serves to exacerbate those problems, can and will Jon Gruden’s squad bounce back?
