Raiders 2021 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings: Tight Ends

Hunter Long #80 Boston College (John Quackenbos, ACC Pool Photography)

4. Hunter Long, RS Junior, Boston College

Long is a huge target that was heavily relied on at Boston College. Nevertheless, he likely does not have the high-end speed to be an elite tight end at the next level. Regardless, he will be a matchup nightmare in the red zone from day one. Over time, he could develop into a solid number one tight end if he polishes his game a bit. He could end up having a similar career path to Jared Cook.

Grade: Third round

5. Kenny Yeboah, RS Senior, Ole Miss

Yeboah maintained solid production after transferring from Temple to Ole Miss. He has good hands and does a great job of finding openings in zone coverage. He is also a serviceable blocker. When watching his tape, he brings back strange Owen Daniels flashbacks.

Grade: Late day two

6. Tommy Tremble, RS Sophomore, Notre Dame

Tremble is a tough, physical blocking tight end. He hunts linebackers aggressively, almost to a fault at times. In the passing game, he is most effective working underneath and getting yards after the catch. In the right system, he could be very effective, much like Nick Boyle with the Ravens. The problem is, not many teams play like the Ravens in today’s NFL. On the other hand, the Raiders drafted a tight end in the fourth round a couple of years ago and it’s worked out pretty well for them.

Grade: Fourth round

7. Quintin Morris, Senior, Bowling Green

Morris is a converted wide receiver, and his route running shows it. As a blocker, he gets the job done more often than not. There is nothing flashy about Morris’ measurables, and he will likely never be a team’s number one guy. However, he has a solid track record that should give teams confidence that he can be productive as the second or third tight end for a long time. A decent comp for him would be Richard Rodgers.

Grade: Fifth round
