What Are Early Betting Odds Saying About This Year’s Raiders?

The Las Vegas Raiders made several changes across the board but will they translate into wins next season? Let’s see what the betting odds are saying.

The biggest change for the Raiders came in the form of Gus Bradley’s hiring as defensive coordinator. Adding a competent, knowledgeable, and proven coach to handle the defense is going to go a long way. Maximizing the talent that Bradley inherited along with this offseason’s addition should translate into more wins. The question is, just how many more wins? More importantly, will the organization be in the playoffs?

Can the Raiders win more than seven games?

The offense has a bevy of potentially explosive weapons already in place for 2021. Among those weapons will be the running backs, Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. Assuming that the new additions to the offensive line mesh under offensive line coach Tom Cable, the offense won’t be skipping a beat. On paper, this team is improved but the rest of the AFC  West also improved which won’t bode well for the Raiders’ total wins. USA Today recently released odds for prop bets ahead of the season.

Odds to win AFC West Division: +1600 (bet $100 to win $1,600)

Win total: 7 (Over: -110 | Under: -110)

Will the Raiders make the playoffs? Yes: +310 | No: -400

None of these bets is a ‘sure thing,’ though the team could have a shot at the playoffs coming off an eight-win season. Playing in the AFC West will make it tough for Jon Gruden’s squad to crack the postseason but anything can happen in the NFL. What are your thoughts, Raider Nation?
