The news came down like a lightning strike for Las Vegas Raiders fans on Monday. Essentially, you’ll have to be vaccinated if you want to attend the team’s home games. What did head coach Jon Gruden have to say?
As expected, this development set ablaze social media for Raider Nation. If it isn’t a Derek Carr debate or Clelin Ferrell’s status as a bust, there’s always something that sets off folks. Apparently, the notion of a vaccination requirement struck a chord with fans, many went as far as to say they’ll have nothing to do with the team in 2021. As far as Gruden’s concerned, it’s business as usual. His focus is getting the Silver and Black into the postseason, however, even he couldn’t escape this debate.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Gruden shared his thoughts on the vaccine mandate.
‘I just support the decisions that are being made; every state, every team is probably going to have a different view on this. I support the decision that was made, I’ll be anxious to see as many Raiders fans as possible with no mask. That’s what I’m excited about, they can make more noise that way. I know it’s a touchy subject for a lot of people but I do support the direction we’re heading. I encourage everybody that I know to get the vaccine and come and join us.’

There you have it Raiders fans…
The debate surrounding the Covid-19 vaccine and the mandates popping up around the country is a subject of heated debate. So it wasn’t a surprise to see such a passionate response from Raider Nation. Many have already been vaccinated while others are vehemently opposed to such a mandate. The NFL and the Raiders are a business first and foremost, but the Silver and Black are taking people’s safety seriously. Whether you chose to get vaccinated or not seems a moot point. The Raiders will continue this season, with or without you.
