3 Potential Trade Options For Raiders Before Deadline

Although the trade deadline is over a month away, at 3-0, the Raiders may look for some players to give them an extra boost when that time comes. Here are some players that could interest Las Vegas.

Emmanuel Ogbah, Edge Rusher (Miami Dolphins)

One of the strengths of the Raiders team thus far has been the pass rush. With Maxx Crosby playing like an All-Pro and Yannick Ngakoue complimenting him perfectly, the Raiders have one of the best duos in the league. However, in the NFL, the best teams always add to their strengths. Think of how the Chiefs load up on speed and the Buccaneers load up on wideouts. Currently, Ogbah only has 0.5 sacks for the Dolphins but had nine last season. For the Raiders, Ogbah would give them even more pass-rushing juice for a potential playoff push.

Stephon Gilmore, Cornerback (New England Patriots)

Another area where the Raiders have been strong is cornerback. That is due to the incredible play by free-agent addition Casey Hayward, who has been a lockdown corner. However, Trayvon Mullen has done a fantastic job across from him and is developing nicely. Alas, injuries run rampant in the NFL, and the Raiders could be a few injuries away from having a depleted cornerback unit. To remedy this, the Raiders could secure one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL who is only available due to the Patriots’ struggles. A former Defensive Player of the Year, the price tag could be steep for his services, but he would add another layer of legitimacy to the Las Vegas defense.

Trade Clelin Ferrell

What is left to say about Ferrell at this point? A top-five pick back in 2019, Ferrell has never come close to matching that draft status. As such, he has become an afterthought in Las Vegas. Inactive in Week 1, the Raiders did not miss his services in any way. Altogether, Ferrell has played in two games with no starts. At this point, the experiment is over, and it is time to move on. While Ferrell won’t be a prized piece at the deadline, the NFL loves the first-round pedigree. As such, he likely gets flipped for a late Day 3 draft pick as the Raiders cut their losses.
