Smartest Raiders Bet: Derek Carr Under 1.5 TD Passes In Week 13

Only one bet hit last week, but at least it was that juicy moneyline. Let’s see where the money can be made this week as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Washington Football Team. All odds are as of Friday afternoon via DraftKings.

Smartest Bet: Derek Carr Under 1.5 TD Passes (+105)

I don’t mean to be a “Debbie Downer” here, but Carr probably won’t throw for more than one score. That doesn’t mean that the Raiders will not win or that ‘DC‘ will have a bad game. That is just how things have operated for the Raiders lately.

The offense has struggled to throw the ball into the end zone once they get into the red zone. On top of that, they will be without Darren Waller, which certainly doesn’t help things. Another thing to consider is Washington’s playing style. They tend to try to shorten the game. That could lead to a low-scoring affair with limited possessions. All signs point to Carr going under a 1.5 touchdown pass.

Safest Bet: Antonio Gibson Longest Rush Over 15.5 Yards (-105)

Again, this may seem like a “Pro Washington” bet, but it’s just the way things are right now. The Raiders have had issues defending the run lately, especially when it comes to giving up big plays. Washington’s bellcow back is a good rusher and should get plenty of touches. It is highly likely that one goes for 16 yards or more.

Best Risky Bet: Raider Moneyline & Under 48.5 (+240)

Between Washington’s penchant for shortening drives and Vegas’s penchant for not finishing drives, we could be looking at a low-scoring game. The Raiders have a solid defense, and Washington’s offense is playing better, but is still led by Taylor Heinicke. Washington will likely have the most offensive success on the ground, which will eat up a lot of clock. Also, the Raiders may be looking to attack the middle of the field more since their big boundary target, Waller, is unlikely to play. Despite the low score, I still like the Raiders to win. They are simply the better team all around. Plus, having Daniel Carlson never hurts in these low-scoring games with few touchdowns.
